Illustrator, 2D animator, vegan, human

How if we make tangible all those ideas you have and add a little extra magic to them?

Let’s create together an unforgettable universe to dive in!

 Who am I?

Hi! I’m Ana, an islander illustrator and 2D animator, with Canarian-basque genes, living between the islands and Madrid.

I absolutely adore traditional media, especially markers and watercolor, but I actually prefer digital media because it’s really comfy and I find it clean and quick. I have worked mainly in Procreate since 2017, before that I used to work in Photoshop and I manage pretty well laying out with Indesign. I also know Illustrator well, and even if it’s not seen through my work I know how to use vectors.

What have I done so far?

I studied an upper cycle in Illustration, and after that I attended a Publishing Illustration private course through ESDIP, which is the field that fulfills me the most. After that I studied 2D traditional and cut-out animation with ToonBoom through the SPEGC. I’ve also touched a bit of web design, Flash animation, audiovisual infographics, 3D modeling with Blender, art direction, child fashion design… I like to have an idea of how everything around visual arts works to have a broader view.

I’ve made some illustration works for the Vice-department for Equality of the Government of the Canary Islands, Bilenio Editorial or the Spanish Ministry of Public Health (last one through Asociación Hestia, the ULL and the ULPGC). I’ve also worked as a caricaturist, photo editor and storyboard artist for La Escalera de Fumío (an Advertising Agency), and drew some promotional illustrations for the Radical Bartending School. I’ve also illustrated ‘Estequiometría’ short film’s credits, from the director Lila Ø, and worked as an animator for the Youtube series 'Superthings'.

I collaborated with a section dedicated to erotic short stories (Canarias Sex 3.0) from the online version of Canarias 7 newspaper and did diverse illustrations for solidary publications like ‘Dedos Arriba por Guille’ and the last number of ‘Doñana es Arte’, in which my illustration was used for the cover too. After that I made some illustrations for an anthological trilogy of children's books called 'Biblioteca de Sueños', including third volume's cover. I also collaborated with an illustration for a solidary mug design for an UNRWA campaign, created the poster for some Autism Day journeys called ‘La discapacidad vista por los hermanos’ (organised by APAELP), and illustrated a print for Fran Fernández singer-songwriter’s crowdfunding.

A couple of years ago I used to alternate personal commissions as portraits or wedding cards with working as a bartender (my cocktails are to die for!). Now I’m 100% focused in my illustrator career and so excited for this new path I’m diving in!

I've participated in a variety of exhibitions too, being the last of them 'Proyecto Volcán', and 'Ilustradoras & Ilustradas' 1 and 2, in 2022 and 2021. In October 2018, ‘Micro Cosmos Jóvenes Creadores’ (Teatro Víctor Jara, Gran Canaria). Before that in a customized skateboards show ‘Reforestación’ (ESDIP, Madrid, 2011), and some years before that I made my first solo exhibition, ‘Customize it!’ (La Habitación Colectiva, Gran Canaria, 2009), where I exposed illustrations and hand painted clothing designs.

What can I do for you?

I work fast and like to give effective solutions to every work I’m collaborating at, and dialogue with clients is fundamental to me. I firmly believe that this is the best way to achieve a great final work in which we both feel involved and happy.

I hope you like my work and enjoy this hopefully magical walk through my portfolio, I’ll love to read your proposals! See you between strokes and colours!
